Sharing a little of myself with you...

I love teaching!

I graduated in the summer of 2010 from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in social science.  I am licensed to teach first grade through eighth grade in the state of Wisconsin.  I have had the privilege of spending time in many different classrooms and a variety of people through substitute teaching, student teaching, working at an after school program, and volunteering through the parent teacher organization.

I am married and we have two children.  My daughter is in high school and she stays busy with forensics, music, art, and tennis.  My son is in fourth grade and loves sports: soccer, baseball, football, and basketball.  Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we have been living in New London, Wisconsin for 12 years.  Our lovely English setter whom we adopted a few years ago rounds out our family and we're blessed to have her.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors, often at the same time!  On nice days, I've been known to pack a picnic as I head out hiking, biking, canoeing, skiing, or snowshoeing to a remote area to spend the afternoon.  Trying my hand at gardening, I plan to enlarge my garden this year to get my hands dirty and enjoy some fresh produce this coming growing season.  Like so many others, I think the Earth is worth caring for and I try to do my part in keeping it healthy.

I love learning and spend much time reading and researching.   I'm often searching through books, talking to people, or online trying to find answers to my numerous questions and I often find out interesting facts, sites, and information which I'll try to share with you.  Please check out my book recommendations and I hope you'll share some of your recommendations with me, too!
